Cirey-sur-Vezouze solar power plant: site visit
On Tuesday 4 February, Corsica Sole welcomed around fifteen people – elected officials, local stakeholders and journalists – to the site of its future solar park in Cirey-sur-Vezouze, in Meurthe-et-Moselle. This project, supported by the town hall, aims to strengthen the region’s energy transition. Commissioning is scheduled for spring 2025.
Visitors watched live as the longrines, reinforced concrete beams that serve as foundations for photovoltaic structures, were poured. This 4.2-hectare solar power plant will have a capacity of 5.4 MWp, enough to power around 2,000 homes.
Prior to construction, a demolition and asbestos removal phase was carried out, including the dismantling of the water tower. The rubble was reused to backfill the site, illustrating a responsible approach.
This visit helped to strengthen the interest of local stakeholders in the project and to discuss its challenges. It was part of an educational initiative aimed at improving understanding of the stages involved in building a solar power plant and the associated benefits, and at answering questions. It also provided an opportunity to discuss crowdfunding via the Lendosphère platform, enabling residents of Cirey-sur-Vezouze and neighbouring municipalities to actively participate in the project and benefit from an attractive interest rate.
Part of the ‘Grand Est Région Verte’ programme, this project contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preserving biodiversity.
Corsica Sole, an independent solar energy producer and a leader in energy storage in Europe, is thus continuing its commitment to a responsible energy future.
