Corsica Sole chooses Nidec to build its next four power plants in Corsica

Corsica Sole has signed a memorandum of understanding with Nidec for the construction of four photovoltaic power plants with storage facilities in Corsica. Taken together, these four production units have a combined capacity of 13 MWp and a storage capacity of over 20 MWh. Corsica Sole was awarded the CRE ZNI tender for these projects in June 2016. This is one of the most ambitious solar energy programs combining production and storage ever initiated on the island.
These projects prove that it is now technologically possible, economically viable, and socially beneficial to achieve 100% renewable mixed energy production.
Nidec will be responsible for the construction, installation, and commissioning of the entire power plant. A leader in the power electronics sector, Nidec Industrial Solutions is a supplier of conversion equipment, energy storage, and energy management solutions.
