Corsica Sole is opening up crowdfunding for its Venaco solar power station to the people of Corsica
Press releases
Corsica Sole is launching a €308,000 crowdfunding campaign for its Venaco solar power station, currently under construction. Open exclusively to residents of Corse-du-Sud and Haute-Corse, this fundraising initiative enables them to contribute directly to the financing of a new renewable electricity generation project being developed in their region.
€308,000 reserved for Corsican residents
From 1 October 2026, residents of South Corsica (2A) and North Corsica (2B) who own a main or holiday home on the island will be able to invest in the future Venaco solar power station via the Lendosphere and Lendopolis platforms, owned and operated by Lendocompany.
The campaign aims to raise €308,000 to help finance the construction and commissioning of the power station.
The investment takes the form of an indirect equity investment in Corsica Sole 23, the project company that owns the power station and is a subsidiary of Corsica Sole Invest. The expected gross annual return is approximately 7 per cent.
As with any capital investment, this transaction involves risks, including the risk of partial or total loss of the capital invested. Full details of the investment, the associated risks and the regulatory documentation are available on the crowdfunding platforms.
Corsica Sole was founded in Corsica and has been developing solar projects there since 2009. Through this initiative, we aim to enable local residents to play a direct part in financing an energy project in their own region. In Venaco, we are transforming a former derelict site into a source of renewable electricity, whilst ensuring that the people of Corsica share in the value created by the project
Turning a former waste disposal site into a source of renewable electricity
Located in the hamlet of Quarceta, in Venaco, the solar power station is being built on the site of a former waste disposal site that now lies derelict.
With a capacity of 3.1 MWp, it will generate around 4,000 MWh of renewable electricity per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 2,200 people. It is scheduled to come on stream in December 2026.
The project thus provides a new use for land that is already degraded, without encroaching on new natural areas. Particular attention has also been paid to the conservation of Hermann’s tortoise, a protected species found in the area: the infrastructure has been designed to allow the tortoises to move through and around the plant.
As the successful bidder for the first phase of the PPE2 ZNI tender, the power station will benefit from a 20-year contract providing a supplementary payment for the electricity it generates.
Involving Corsicans in the development of renewable energy on the island
This campaign reflects Corsica Sole’s commitment to involving residents in the energy projects being developed in their local area and in the value these projects create locally.
It is also part of Corsica Sole’s history – a company founded in Corsica in 2009 – and its long-term commitment to the island.
In Venaco, Corsica Sole has already established a 330 kWp photovoltaic shed, designed, built and financed by the company and now owned by the local council. The building houses tennis courts and pétanque pitches, as well as a multi-purpose space used for local events, including A Fiera di U Casgiu, the regional fair for Corsican farm cheeses.
With the Quarceta power station and the opening up of its financing to local residents, Corsica Sole is thus continuing its commitment to an energy transition rooted in the Corsican region.
How can I take part?
