Corsica Sole is expanding its presence in Réunion with the acquisition of seven solar power stations
Corsica Sole is continuing its expansion in Réunion with the acquisition from Urbasolar of a portfolio of seven photovoltaic power stations installed on rooftops and car park canopies, six of which are combined with energy storage capacity.
Already in operation, these installations strengthen the company’s portfolio in Réunion and reaffirm its commitment to the region’s energy transition.
A long-term approach to the energy transition
Developing renewable energy is not just about building new power stations. It also involves ensuring the continuity, performance and optimisation of existing installations, in line with the region’s needs.
The acquisition of these seven power stations, which came online between 2020 and 2021, forms part of this approach. Located in Le Port, Saint-Louis and Saint-Benoît, they represent a total of approximately 3.7 MWp of photovoltaic capacity and 6.2 MWh of storage capacity.
The acquired portfolio comprises photovoltaic power stations installed on building roofs as well as car park shade structures. These installations make it possible to utilise areas that have already been developed whilst producing local renewable electricity.

A strengthened presence in Réunion
Prior to this acquisition, Corsica Sole operated nearly 6.8 MWp of solar power capacity and 10.4 MWh of storage capacity in Réunion.
As a result of this transaction, the company’s portfolio in Réunion now totals approximately 10.5 MWp of solar power capacity and 16.7 MWh of storage capacity. This new development strengthens the company’s presence on the island and its ability to sustainably operate energy infrastructure tailored to the region’s needs.
Long-standing expertise in island territories
As a specialist in non-interconnected areas since 2009, Corsica Sole possesses long-standing expertise in the energy challenges specific to island territories.
In these regions, striking a balance between electricity generation and consumption is a major challenge. Combined with photovoltaic installations, energy storage helps to better integrate renewable generation into the electricity grid.
By developing and operating projects that combine solar power and storage, Corsica Sole applies its expertise to create more resilient electricity systems and ensure that renewable energy generation is tailored to local conditions.

Strengthening ties with local businesses
This acquisition also helps to strengthen Corsica Sole’s ties with businesses in Réunion. Several facilities are located on sites linked to the RAVATE Group, a major business player on the island.
The integration of these projects thus opens up new opportunities for collaboration and demonstrates Corsica Sole’s commitment to building lasting relationships with local businesses.
Taking over, operating and optimising these facilities represents a further step in Corsica Sole’s commitment to Réunion’s energy transition.
