Crowdfunding: CORSICA SOLE launches a crowdfunding campaign for a solar power plant in Hauts-France
News
€550,000 is available for citizen investment for residents of the Somme (80), Nord (59) and Pas-de-Calais (62) departments from 10 May to 15 June 2022.
Paris, 10 May 2022 – CORSICA SOLE, a French solar energy producer and leader in energy storage in France, has just launched a crowdfunding campaign for its 5.5 MWp Moulin de Beuvry photovoltaic power plant project, located in Labourse (62).
Green energy for 1,300 households
The Moulin de Beuvry power plant will be built on an industrial wasteland (not far from the ‘Moulin de Beuvry’) where a thermal power plant previously stood before being dismantled in the 1980s.
Scheduled to come online in summer 2022, the plant built by CORSICA SOLE will be equipped with 12,300 bifacial photovoltaic panels, which will generate more electricity than conventional panels. This new solar power plant will produce more than 6,000 MWh of green energy per year and avoid the emission of more than 181 tonnes of CO2 per year. This is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 1,300 households, which is more than the number of households in the municipality of Labourse.
An investment involving local residents in the energy transition of their region
CORSICA SOLE has committed to offering part of the project’s financing to residents of the department where the power plant is located and neighbouring departments. The minimum amount to be raised is €550,000, which may be increased to €650,000. Residents of the region will therefore be able to invest any amount they choose, starting from £20, in this project, which contributes to the energy transition of their region, while benefiting from an attractive return. The crowdfunding will be structured in partnership with Lendopolis, the crowdfunding platform for businesses and individuals.
This investment will have a real environmental impact, as for every £1,000 invested, a subscriber contributes to the production of more than 1,000 kWh/year of electricity, which is more than half of their average annual consumption. More and more of us are unwilling to stand idly by and watch our planet deteriorate: in addition to benefiting from a very attractive rate of return, each citizen is directly involved in building the future of their region.
The fundraising campaign will be open from 10 May on the lendopolis.com platform and is reserved for residents of the Somme (80), Nord (59) and Pas-de-Calais (62) departments.
