Industry Week 2025: educational visit to the Alata solar power plant

News

On Thursday 20 November, the Alata solar power plant welcomed two school classes as part of the 14th edition of Industry Week.

This national initiative aims to introduce young people to the industrial sectors and professions that shape their region.

A morning of discovery for two schools in Haute-Corse

Two groups took part in this educational visit:

  • A Year 8 class from Taravo secondary school,
  • A class from the Francine Leca EREA.

Welcomed by the Corsica Sole teams, the pupils were able to discover how a solar power plant works, understand its role in local renewable energy production and learn about the specific energy challenges facing Corsica.

Awareness, education and discussion

The aim of this visit was to offer students a practical immersion in the world of renewable energy and to give them a behind-the-scenes look at a photovoltaic installation in operation.

The programme included:

  • A presentation of the site and Corsica Sole’s missions
  • Explanations about solar energy production and how a power plant works
  • Discussions about careers in the sector and innovations accompanying the energy transition
  • Awareness-raising about the positive impacts of these infrastructures on the regions

The young people asked many questions, ranging from the technical aspects of photovoltaics to career opportunities in the energy sector.

A commitment to local communities

Every year, Industry Week encourages companies to open their doors and share their expertise.

By welcoming students to its production sites, Corsica Sole helps to promote industrial sectors linked to renewable energies and encourage young people to consider careers of the future.

Industry Week: bringing young people closer to the jobs of the future

At Corsica Sole, we believe it is essential to raise awareness among all audiences, including schoolchildren, students, elected officials and residents, in order to support the energy transition. These meetings enable us to create dialogue, explain our jobs and show how solar power plants contribute to sustainable development for the benefit of local communities.
