Financial Controller
Job description
Reporting to the Head of Accounting and Tax – Energy and International Division, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Support for the management of international subsidiaries
- Setting up and supervising the accounting and financial flows of companies based in Europe, in coordination with local accounting and tax service providers;
- Monitoring the quarterly reporting process, reviewing reporting packages received from external firms (trial balances, general ledgers, financial statements, flat files, etc.);
- Analysing accounting data against project cost budgets;
- Importing data into the accounting management software;
- Monitoring the payment process in coordination with the treasury team;
- Ensuring compliance with local statutory obligations and monitoring local tax matters.
Monitoring of project cost budgets across France and international scope
- Updating financial data related to project costs (payments, accounting categories, etc.);
- In-depth analysis of accounting data versus project cost budgets, in collaboration with project managers (approximately 10 to 15 active SPVs per year);
- Managing and monitoring project-related provisions.
Supervision of international intra-group flows
- Reconciliation of intercompany transactions: invoicing, financing, current accounts, interest and dividends;
- Ensuring correct invoicing in line with intra-group agreements (support services and project management fees).
Project management and transformation
- Supporting the implementation of a new AMELKIS tool for managing and analysing international financial data;
- Monitoring charts of accounts and mappings, import files, automation processes and intercompany eliminations;
- Improving and formalising key processes (internal procedures, controls).
Profile sought
With a higher education qualification in accounting or finance (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree), you have at least 3 years’ experience in financial controlling and a solid understanding of multi-entity accounting environments.
You demonstrate strong intellectual agility when designing control procedures in a fast-evolving environment, with a keen sensitivity to operational challenges and the ability to communicate effectively with project managers.
You thrive in growing and evolving environments and are autonomous, rigorous and analytical, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders (internal teams and external service providers).
You have full proficiency in:
- Fluent English, both written and spoken;
- Excel, the Microsoft Office suite, and financial management tools (Power BI, etc.).
