Head of accounting
Job description
Reporting to the Head of Accounting and Tax – Energy and International Division, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Accounting management and financial close
- Supervising general and subsidiary accounting (customers, suppliers, treasury, fixed assets) in coordination with the external accounting firm;
- Monitoring energy and services invoicing;
- Preparing quarterly, half-year and annual closings;
- Reconciling intercompany transactions: invoicing, financing, current accounts, interest and dividends;
- Monitoring reconciliations, adjustments and preparatory work for audits;
- Reviewing financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss account, notes) and audit files;
- Ensuring compliance with French GAAP accounting standards.
Taxation and statutory obligations
- Supervising and reviewing tax obligations (VAT, CVAE, corporate income tax and other taxes);
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and tax developments.
Supporting company growth and organisation
- Monitoring changes in scope (creation of entities and updates in systems);
- Tracking CAPEX in relation to project costs and transfers between SPVs;
- Implementing and continuously improving accounting procedures and internal controls.
Management reporting and executive support
- Providing reliable and regular reporting to the Finance Department;
- Contributing to cross-functional projects.
Profile sought
With a higher education qualification in accounting (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree), you have experience either in an audit firm or within an international company, and you have a strong command of multi-entity accounting environments.
You demonstrate intellectual agility in designing accounting and control procedures within a fast-evolving organisation, and you are comfortable working in growing and structuring environments.
Autonomous, rigorous and analytical, you also have excellent interpersonal skills and are able to manage multiple stakeholders (internal teams and external service providers).
Knowledge of SAGE 1000 would be an advantage.
English proficiency is optional.
