Dommartin-Lès-Remiremont solar power plant – France (Vosges Region)
Solar energyIn operationMainland France
Located on a former 6.7-hectare municipal site, the Dommartin-lès-Remiremont solar power plant illustrates a successful reconversion in support of the energy transition in the Vosges.
Previously used as a waste collection site, a crushing platform and later an event space, the land now hosts nearly 12,000 photovoltaic panels, representing an installed capacity of 5 MWp.
The solar park will generate the equivalent of the electricity consumption of more than 3,144 people, while avoiding approximately 1,716 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.
The project was delivered by OMEXOM (VINCI Group), using bifacial panels supplied by Photowatt. It is based on 100% French expertise and actively supports local employment.
The municipality transferred ownership of the land to the CCPVM (Community of Municipalities of the Porte des Vosges Méridionales), which entrusted its operation to Corsica Sole for a period of 30 years.
Commitment to the environment and biodiversity
Selected as a winner of a CRE call for projects, the solar park benefits from strict environmental measures implemented in collaboration with the National Forestry Office (ONF). These include the preservation of natural habitats, the installation of bat roosts and forest compensation measures.
As part of the project, a specific area of the site has been designated as a protected zone for the little ringed plover, a protected species, in order to preserve its natural habitat and support its breeding.
This area, deliberately left in a natural state, reflects Corsica Sole’s strong commitment to biodiversity and respect for local ecosystems.
An initiative supported by local authorities
Driven by strong local momentum, this project embodies the shared ambition of Corsica Sole and the Community of Municipalities of the Porte des Vosges Méridionales (CCPVM) to combine energy development, environmental preservation and long-term territorial anchoring.
This solar power plant is far more than just an energy project; it is a real asset for our community. By rehabilitating this industrial brownfield site, we are improving the quality of life for local residents. The project also strengthens our energy autonomy, which could ultimately lead to greater stability in electricity costs. It is a perfect example of sustainable development that directly benefits our population
