Successful launch in Martinique
Barely a year after setting up in Martinique, Corsica Sole has already filed a dozen building permits for agricultural photovoltaic roofs, which will be built in 2020. Its model of a shed adapted to seismic and cyclonic standards immediately won over Martinique’s farmers.
It must be said that the partnership is particularly attractive. Farmers benefit from a shed free of charge for life, which they can use to shelter their animals, crops, and machinery. In exchange, Corsica Sole can operate the roof and sell the electricity produced to EDF. All the heavy administrative procedures and costs of the project, from legal set-up and construction to connection to the electricity grid, are covered. In short, it’s a win-win situation.
The icing on the cake is that by financing the connection to the grid, which can be very costly, this project also contributes to the modernization of the EDF grid in rural areas.
As Corsica Sole’s ambition is to support Martinique in its quest for energy independence, a partnership has just been signed with Martinique 2030 and Antilla, two major players in the environmental field. Its objective is to build closer ties with the decision-makers responsible for sustainable solutions in Martinique, in order to be able to act more effectively as a player in the island’s energy transition by developing new projects.
