Energy & Urban planning lawyer
Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Projects & Real Estate Legal Affairs, you will contribute to the legal security of photovoltaic and energy storage projects, from land securing through to the granting of key authorisations (planning permissions, grid connection agreements).
You will provide legal and operational support to the development teams, while gaining insight into the workings of a fast-growing company in the renewable energy sector. Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Planning and urban planning compliance
- Analysing project compliance with urban planning regulations (local development plans – PLU, planning permissions, etc.);
- Contributing to the preparation of planning authorisation applications.
Pre-litigation and urban planning litigation (support role)
- Assisting with the monitoring of appeal proceedings and liaising with external lawyers;
- Preparing briefing notes and documentation for senior management.
Legal monitoring and research
- Conducting legal research in energy law and urban planning law;
- Ensuring regulatory and case-law monitoring (agrivoltaics, grid connection, renewable energy);
- Drafting briefing notes and internal guidance documents.
Contractual support
- Assisting with the drafting and review of contracts and standard documentation;
- Contributing to the upskilling of the team on specific contractual matters.
The scope of responsibilities may evolve depending on your skills and learning objectives.
Profile Sought
You are a Master’s level student (Master 2) in Energy Law, Urban Planning Law or a similar field, and you are keen to apply your skills to the renewable energy sector and the energy transition.
You have strong legal research skills with a proven ability to synthesise information. You are well organised, rigorous and autonomous, with strong writing skills, a good team spirit, and a dynamic and intellectually curious mindset.
A good command of English and proficiency with office software tools are essential.
