Corsica Sole and its partners lay the foundation stone for the largest battery park in continental Europe in Estonia

Press releases

On 2 October 2024, Corsica Sole, in partnership with Evecon and Mirova as part of the Baltic Storage Platform joint venture, celebrated a crucial milestone with the laying of the foundation stone for the largest battery park in continental Europe in Kiisa, Estonia. This ambitious project is a key element in the integration of the Baltic countries into the European electricity grid, scheduled for 2025.

This battery complex, which will have a capacity of 200 MW and a total production of 400 MWh, will consist of two power plants located in Harju County. The first power plant will be commissioned by the end of 2025, followed by the second in 2026.

We are proud to leverage our expertise in energy storage, developed since our beginnings in the French islands, and to export it to Europe to support grid stability and the integration of renewable energies.

Michael Coudyser Founder and Managing Director of Corsica Sole

In partnership with Evecon and Mirova, Corsica Sole is actively participating in the energy transition in Europe and strengthening the energy independence of the Baltic countries, while contributing to the region’s decarbonisation efforts.

This innovative project will be connected to the Estonian grid by a 330 kV underground cable, a first in the country.
